Incorporating: Buchanty, the Sma Glen, Aberfeldy, Kenmore, Loch Tay, Fortingall, Glen Lyon, single-track around Ben Lawers, Killin, Lochearnhead, single-track along south banks of Loch Earn to St. Fillans, Comrie and Crieff.
This route forms a circuit to the west of Perth and includes a tremendous range of fantastic roads and scenery in only 112 miles. You'll take the Crieff road west as far as Methven before taking quiet country roads via Buchanty to the Sma Glen. Follow the signs north to Aberfeldy then trace the river Tay to Kenmore on Loch Tay. After a short stretch of the north bank, you'll turn off for Fortingall and explore Glen Lyon all the way around Ben Lawers, mostly single-track, until you join Loch Tay again and follow to Killin. Then south to Loch Earn and Lochearnhead where you'll find the lovely single-track along the south shore to St. Fillans. Quiet secondary roads take you back to Perth via Comrie and Crieff. |
