This is a short route to Fife then across through the Ochil hills; it incorporates: Bridge of Earn, Glenfarg, Falkland, the Lomond hills, Loch Leven, Rumbling Bridge, Glen Devon, Glen Eagles and Auchterarder.
You'll leave Perth by the old Edinburgh road on which we used to wind through Glenfarg behind heavy slow traffic. Now most of the traffic is on the motorway and you can enjoy the bends for a few miles before turning off to Gateside, Strathmiglo and Falkland with its historic Palace. Pass between Fife's modest hills, the Lomonds; nowhere near their namesake loch and pass through Leslie on the outskirts of Glenrothes. You'll view Loch Leven and cross the M90 on your way to Rumbling Bridge then climb into the Ochil hills via Yetts o' Muckhart along lovely Glen Devon and into Glen Eagles from where you can look accross the valley of Strathallan to the famous hotel of the same name. Cross the A9 and admire the immaculately tended golf courses on your way to Auchterarder and return to Perth by quiet country roads.
